Abdulrasheed Isah joined the Energy and Technology Policy Group in June 2022. His PhD research focuses on the role of finance and climate pledges in achieving green economic recovery and net-zero targets, as well as the underlying economic, political, and technological forces. Prior to EPG, he was a Junior Researcher at the Center for Development Research (external page ZEF) at University of Bonn, Non-resident Fellow at the Center for Effective Global Action (external page CEGA) at University of California, Berkeley, and Assistant Lecturer in economics at external page Nile University of Nigeria. In addition, he has experience in designing bankable renewable energy projects in developing countries. He studied economics at external page SOAS University of London and external page Ahmadu Bello University.

He has conducted research on the role of finance and public policies in energy transition in Nigeria and Brazil, the techno-economic-environmental implications of energy policies, and the effects of weather shocks on labor market and psychological outcomes. He is a recipient of fellowships from external page Commonwealth Scholarship Commissions, external page UC Berkeley, external page German Academic Exchange Service, and external page Chevron Corporation.

Abdulrasheed is passionate about solving global challenges. He is a member of Chatham House external page Common Futures Conversations, World Economic Forum external page Global Shapers Community, and external page Climate Reality Leadership Corps. He enjoys reading The New Yorker and listening to Afrobeat.
