Abdulrasheed Isah joined the Energy and Technology Policy Group in June 2022. His PhD research focuses on the role of finance and climate pledges in achieving green economic recovery and net-zero targets, as well as the underlying economic, political, and technological forces. Prior to EPG, he was a Junior Researcher at the Center for Development Research (external pageZEF) at University of Bonn, Non-resident Fellow at the Center for Effective Global Action (external pageCEGA) at University of California, Berkeley, and Assistant Lecturer in economics at external pageNile University of Nigeria. In addition, he has experience in designing bankable renewable energy projects in developing countries. He studied economics at external pageSOAS University of London and external pageAhmadu Bello University.

He has conducted research on the role of finance and public policies in energy transition in Nigeria and Brazil, the techno-economic-environmental implications of energy policies, and the effects of weather shocks on labor market and psychological outcomes. He is a recipient of fellowships from external pageCommonwealth Scholarship Commissions, external pageUC Berkeley, external pageGerman Academic Exchange Service, and external pageChevron Corporation.

Abdulrasheed is passionate about solving global challenges. He is a member of Chatham House external pageCommon Futures Conversations, World Economic Forum external pageGlobal Shapers Community, and external pageClimate Reality Leadership Corps. He enjoys reading The New Yorker and listening to Afrobeat.
