Sara Eberhart
Sara Eberhart joined the Energy and Technology Policy Group as a PhD candidate in October 2022. She focuses her research – financed by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy’s “Energy-Economy-Society” (external page ESS) research programme – on how to optimally leverage and enable the Swiss financial sector to finance direct investments in the energy transition in Switzerland and abroad.
Sara holds a B.A. in Business and Economics from the external page University of Basel and a Master of Science in Finance and Economics from the external page London School of Economics and Political Science, for which she received the Antoine Faure-Grimaud prize for Best Overall Performance in the MSc Finance and Economics programme: 2nd Prize. Throughout her studies she was a scholar of the external page Swiss Study Foundation for academic excellence, which awarded her scholarships in support of both an exchange semester and her master studies abroad.
Prior to joining EPG, Sara worked as a consultant at the external page Boston Consulting Group, where she was part of the insurance practice area. She developed a specific focus on Climate & Sustainability during her internal secondment with the Global Internal Sustainability Team. As part of that team, she developed and worked on the implementation of BCG’s own external page Net Zero Strategy. Sara gained further professional experience as an academic intern of the diplomatic section at the external page Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore as well as working for the secured lending desk of Credit Suisse in Zurich, risk assessing, pricing and managing share-backed loans for UHNW clients.
In her spare time, Sara can be found outdoors enjoying the lake, river or mountains, doing sports (e.g., swimming, yoga, tennis, (reluctantly) running), listening to podcasts while doing arts and crafts or hiding behind a book (most likely Harry Potter for the 394th time). She also enjoys going to concerts and the theatre – the latter to reminisce about the days she played in professional (youth) theatre productions herself.
