Li Zeng is a master's student of Management, Technology, and Economics at ETH Zurich. In August 2024, he joined the Energy Technology and Policy Group (EPG) for his master's thesis, focusing on the Techno-economic Analysis of Lithium-ion Battery (LIB) Recycling.

Li earned his bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, with a minor in Business, from the University of British Columbia in Canada. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research on lithium-air batteries at the National University of Singapore, winning the Best Student Prize for a poster presentation at the Clean Energy BC conference.

With a growing interest in the intersection of sustainable technology—particularly energy—and business, Li did an internship of Private Equity Investment at China International Capital Corporation Ltd., where he worked on LIB component investments. Prior to joining EPG, he was a research assistant with the Climate Finance and Policy Group (CFP), contributing to projects on ESG bonds, energy transition, and infrastructure investments.

In his free time, Li enjoys snowboarding in the winter, scuba diving in the summer, and hiking in the spring and autumn. He completed the Camino de Santiago in 2022 and is currently tackling the Via Alpina hiking route.
