Léonore Hälg joined the Energy and Technology Policy Group in February 2015 to conduct her master’s thesis and finished her PhD in March 2020. Following her PhD, she worked for the external pageResearch Group for Renewable Energycall_made at ZHAW. Since 2022, she leads the Department of Renewable Energy and Climate at the external pageSwiss Energy Foundationcall_made. Her research interests lie in the interactions between the design of technology deployment policies and technological change in the energy sector.
Léonore holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and chemical engineering, a Master of Science in chemical engineering and biotechnology from external pageETH Lausannecall_made as well as a Master of Science in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zurich.
Before joining EPG, Léonore has worked for external pageVerenumcall_made, an engineering consultancy on the energetic use of biomass. Previously, she worked as a junior researcher at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and interned with the Gas Analytics group of the external pageSwiss Federal Institute of Metrologycall_made (METAS) in Berne, with external pageSolarPrint Ltd.call_made in Dublin, a small firm specialized in dye-sensitized solar cells, and with external pageSulzer Chemtechcall_made in Winterthur. During her previous studies, she spent two semesters at the external pageUniversity of Helsinkicall_made and one semester at external pageUniversity College Dublincall_made.
Léonore likes to spend her free time in the mountains (cross-country and alpine skiing, hiking), teaching German to underprivileged people, listening to radio shows and reading about politics and history, learning languages, and occasionally supporting FC St. Gallen.
